Important assumptions

This is an illustrative business planning calculator, not a valuation or financial forecast. All riders are assumed to buy a separate ticket at the full entered price. Gross ticket revenue includes VAT. Operating surplus deducts output VAT on sales and the entered other annual operating cost budget, calculated staff wages and on costs, and all build, dismantle and transport costs. The other annual operating cost budget should exclude staffing and relocation costs to avoid double counting. Build, dismantle and transport costs are charged once per site setup, including the first setup; change the number of setups to match your tour. Employer on costs are an adjustable approximation, not a payroll calculation. All expense inputs should be entered net of recoverable VAT where appropriate. The operating surplus excludes financing, depreciation, corporation tax and capital replacement. The cash surplus after finance subtracts full principal and interest repayments, which are not equivalent to tax deductible expenses. Finance calculations assume an amortising loan at a fixed nominal annual rate with monthly payments for the full term, no balloon payment, and no early settlement. Purchase VAT, tax relief, residual value, lender eligibility and any lender fees beyond the entered amount are not modelled. Annual repayments are shown as twelve months even when the ride operates seasonally. Actual throughput may be affected by loading times, breakdowns, weather, staffing and demand. Simple outright purchase payback assumes the same annual operating surplus each year and ignores financing and the time value of money. Negative or zero surplus means no payback.
